Associate Professor and Head of Unit Upper GI Surgery Royal Adelaide Hospital

Dr. Kanhere completed his General Surgery training in India in 1999, followed by four years of sub-specialty training in Cancer Surgery, focusing on esophagogastric, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic cancers. He furthered his expertise with a scholarship to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA, specializing in thoracic and esophageal cancer management. Since migrating to Australia in 2004, Dr. Kanhere has undergone additional training in Upper GI, HPB, and Bariatric Surgery at Flinders Medical Centre and QEH. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery in 2007 and was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at QEH. In 2018, he became the Head of Upper GI Surgery at RAH.
